Fast Genetics hires Marcel Grashof as Account Manager

Fast Genetics is pleased to announce the hiring of Marcel Grashof as the Southern Alberta Account Manager.

Marcel originated from a mixed farm in the town of Haaksbergen in the Netherlands.

After high school he attended Agriculture Colleges in the cities of Hengelo and Almelo and received diplomas in Agriculture Management, Business Management, and Animal Science.

Marcel came to Canada on a young farmers grant in 1986 and worked for a year (summer 1986 to summer 1987) on a hog farm in Abbotsford B.C. He liked Canada and the opportunities it had to offer and so decided to move back to Canada in March of 1988, got married and purchased his first farm.

There he owned and operated a 450 sow unit and 80 Limousine cows. He also served on the board of directors for the B.C Pork Producers and the B.C. Ag Council. In 2006, they decided to sell the farm in B.C and move to Alberta and start a 700-head sheep farm in Red Deer County, AB. In 2014 he got out of full- time farming to become a purchaser for an Agriculture company in Lacombe, AB.

We are very excited to welcome Marcel into the Fast Genetics family and believe his extensive experience in the agriculture industry will most definitely be an asset for our team.

Please join us in welcoming Marcel into his new role!
